Today for all I am offering two stitched school girl type samplers. Sure, Halloween is coming up, and the leaves at the tip top of my huge old maple are actually glazed with colors of red ,mustard and lemon yellow...for me; this a sign of the children returning to their lessons, and a silent sigh of time for myself. Both pieces measure 5 x 7, are hand stitched on my oldest linen I own and are lightly aged for an early look. They can either hang or sit upon your own antique setting as I have done on my old burl wood dresser.

My FirSt Day oF SchOoL 1857
This little one...from Miss Boyd's 1857, of Lebanon, Pennsylvania...wasn't too impressed with her first day of school .. She would much rather be riding her dapple grey,,clip clop and has signed it with the initials, K.M.G., This My Best. A piece of rag torn muted puddy colored ticking splits the top from middle. Hand stitched in school girl form. Framed under glass in a purchased black frame with walnut glazing.

C.V.B. SchOoL, FranKLiN,OhiO
This piece.. so much my fav of each is stitched in colors of mustard , mushroom brown, and accents of soft worn blue.I too have added a piece of rag torn antique plaid homespun, in old blue, to split the top from middle. I have hand embroidered small black eyed susans across the piece of soft blue homespun, once covering an old featherbed. This piece stitched in my mind by ELIZA, from the C.V.B. School of Franklin,Ohio, wasn't too impressed with school either, as she would much rather be picking flowers...as I feel sometimes as I wait in line to pay for my groceries,,,she has signed it, This My Best..Framed under glass in a quality purchased black wooden frame of wider girth and double groove for a Center Hall look. As Always , an original,I combine shipping, and will take orders, possibly adding your own initials,as the stitcher,or school.
