This Folk Art Pumpkin Head boy stands 23" to the top of his Polka Dot hat. He is firmly attached to his handmade wooden base, which has been painted and waxed, for an old time patina. He is made from painted, stained and sanded muslin and Osnaburg, and his arms are wired and can be posed. His round Pumpkin head has a stitched on nose, separately attached eyelids, and handpainted eyes and mouth. His features have been carefully shaded.
His clothing is made from painted muslin and Osnaburg, and he wears pants made from brushed flannel, with a black and orange pattern. His boots are painted Osnaburg, as is his curled, pointy hat, and his round collar. The collar and hat are trimmed with old style black tinsel garland.
The banner in his hands says "Merry Halloween", and I've treated it to make it look old and stained. It is attached to his hands with loops of rusty wire, and may be removed if you wish.

Primitive Keeper of the Harvest
This is one of my favorite pieces this year! He has such an appealing face, and just makes me smile to look at him. He's my version of a Scarecrow Make Do, made from my own design, with an antique wooden bobbin for a base. He is 20" tall, and made from painted, stained, and sanded muslin. He has a pinch stitched nose, separately attached eyelids, carefully hand painted eyes and mouth. His cheeks are faintly rosy, and his features are carefully shaded.
He wears a painted, burlap hat, and his shirt is a rich, dark, woven stripe, with a painted cheesecloth scarf. He's holding a little crow, made from painted Osnaburg, in the crook of his arm. The crow is removable, if you wish.
Included is a primitive Pumpkin, on another antique wooden bobbin. I have posed him with his hand resting on the Pumpkin, but of course you can rearrange any way you prefer.
