And the Stockings were hung

"Happy Autumn" or should I be saying "Merry Christmas to you with my September offering! I know it is a tad early for Christmas but I had found this lovely antique frame awhile back and I could no longer resist a Christmas stitchery. This vintage frame is quite stunning with a wonderful old red inner edge and its tarnished gold scrolled outer edge. I have stitched "And the Stockings were hung by the chimney with care" between two red ticking socks hanging from a evergreen bough. A mustard star and 1796 is stitched. My stitching was done on coffee stained osnaburg, there is glass and attached rope for hanging. The frame measures 12" 1/4 wide x 8 1/4" long. This one of kind will come signed, dated and copyright 2008. Thanks for stopping by and be sure to view all the other fantastic offerings from the 1st of the month TDIPT artists.

Blessings and Happy Autumn, til the next time,
Lynn
